6. Don’t gossip about the company with colleagues

The notice period that you serve in the company will be a ripe situation for gossipmongers, sympathizers and others to come and feed on. Don’t fall into the trap. Play your cards well and answer all questions by your friends in a polite and brief way. Even if it is your best comrade in question, do not fumble and reveal your personal issues with the company. You never know how the tables could turn.

7. Complete all your responsibilities

Before you bid good-bye, be sure of resolving all your debts if any, clean up your table, format your PC and complete all the clerical formalities. Act like a professional.

8. Be careful with counter offers

As seen in many companies, your CEO could offer you a promotion or a pay hike to make you stay on the job. It is better if you don’t accept the offer as the entire resignation episode may look like a hoax in that case.
