Anger is an emotion and comes naturally. It is very important to keep this emotion under control. When anger comes out in abusive and violent forms it can have adverse effects. Instead of suppressing it, learn how to handle and manage it. Here are 7 ways to effectively manage anger.

1. Respond when you are calm

When you react in anger it means you are not in the correct state of mind. This would result in something you do not intend to do and may regret later. Let the situation pass and once you are calm you can think what you want to do about it.

2. Think about the image you’re creating

When you react in the heat of the moment, you realize later that you are creating a negative image of yourself. You need to realize your actions define you, so don’t let your anger create a wrong impression about you.

3. Find alternate ways to express yourself

Learn to express your anger in a way where you can put forth your point, without hurting or offending someone. This way you are channelizing your anger in a calm way without having to face any adverse effects.

4. Avoid the cause of anger

If there is someone in particular who becomes the reason for your anger it is best to avoid them. By avoiding that person you are saving yourself from getting into trouble. Avoiding shows that this person is not important and doesn’t affect you.
