Most of us busy men who work all day in office and also hit the gym, need energy boosters that could keep us replenished and going through the day. While protein shakes, beverages, energy bars and glucose water are commonly used zappers, lets have a look at some other, more wholesome options of getting energized.

1. Nuts

Dry fruits and nuts such as walnuts, almonds, peanuts and soy nuts are great sources of energy. A handful of them can make your mind and body fresher and more active within minutes.

2. Fruits

Citrus fruits like lemon and oranges are rich in Vitamin C, which gives instant energy to the body. Apples, bananas, pears and kiwis are also known boosters.

3. Dark chocolate

Dark chocolate that consists of more than 75% cocoa is not only good for getting active but also improving one’s mood. The caffeine and theobromine in the chocolate are responsible for these changes.

4. Seeds

Seeds of pumpkin and sunflower, roasted or plain, are said to be packed with energy boosting proteins. You can have them as a handful or mix them with your main meal.
