Trekking is a fun hobby to have. It fulfills the sense of adventure, gives people an adrenaline rush, makes them burn calories, and allows them to reconnect with the bounty of nature. However, you have got to keep a few things in mind before embarking on a trek, and here are the basic 7 of them.

1. Carry mosquito repellant and sprays

The last thing you want to end up with is nasty bites, infections and diseases given by insect bites. Thus, wear full clothing and apply mosquito repellant all over yourself. Carry a couple of insect sprays that will keep the irritants at bay.

2. Pack 2 bottles of water

It’s important to stay hydrated while doing a tiring exercise like trekking, and you never know when you will venture so deep into the wilderness that you don’t get a shop nearby to purchase water. Hence, it makes sense for every member of the trekking party to carry at least 2 bottles of water each.

3. Take along a Swiss Army knife

The Swiss Army knife has been conceptualized for the very purpose of trekking and hiking. It encompasses a variety of tools that always come in handy while out in the wild, such as scissors, knife, nail cutter, tweezers, screwdriver, blade, toothpick, corkscrew, magnifying glass, pen, pliers, etc.

4. Have a first aid kit on you

A first aid kit is the very first thing that you should put in your backpack while packing for a trek. Trekking is an activity that takes you away from civilized world, where doctors, medicines and clinics are not easily available. Therefore it’s wise to be always prepared in case of health emergencies.
