The hectic schedule throughout the day, work related stress, travel stress, family issues, dealing with your naughty kids – after a very happening day, as the clock strikes ten at night you just want to hit the bed and fall asleep. But, what if you are unable to catch a wink? You just cannot look at the one who is enjoying a deep slumber near you. A host of problems can lead to sleeplessness; it can even be a medical condition that requires treatment. Get to know 5 sleep snatching reasons that can help you find solutions for your problems.

1. You may have had too much of coffee

Are you addicted to caffeine which makes it impossible for you to avoid a cup of coffee at any time of the day? Beware of that habit, as caffeine has the power to block adenosine, a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep. To enjoy a good night’s sleep, stay away from tea, coffee or any other caffeinated products after lunch.

2. Your bedroom may be unfit for sleep

A dark, well ventilated and silent bedroom is the perfect place to sleep. Ensure that your bedroom follows all these factors for an undisturbed sleep. Also avoid pets in your room. If by any chance, light cannot be avoided in your room, ensure you wear an eye band to avoid light. Also make sure that you sleep in a noise proof room and a room where there is enough air circulation. Sometimes all these external factors kill sleep.

3. You may be stressed

Stress or tension can have a great impact on everything you do and that includes sleep. If you feel stress is the major cause for your sleepless nights, practice yoga or meditation. This can help you solve the problem to a great extent. Sometimes you might even have to visit a doctor if the condition persists for long.
