All those health freak men out there, listen up here! If you are going ga-ga over protein shakes and bars to be your saviour, then you are making a big mistake! Suddenly, there is a huge market for fake health foods all around, tempting men and women to substitute their normal healthy meals with these ‘promising’ healthy products. Not many of these people realize that by consuming these products, they are actually harming their body and making it unhealthier. The so-called ‘packaged health foods’ claim to be filled with high proteins and nutrients, but are mere imposters! Thus, it is high time you change your mindset regarding such food options, and carefully monitor what you eat. Check out these fake health foods that one should avoid for a better life.

1. Protein bars

There will hardly be anyone who has not tried a protein bar. And most of them think it is a great healthy snack too. Companies that manufacture these protein bars claim them to be non-fattening, but it is the worst on the list when it comes to fake health foods. These bars are filled with sugar, salt and unhealthy fats. Even if the cover reads “sugar-free” and “high-in-protein”, do not fall for such false traps, especially when they are from brands that are not even reputed.

2. Dried fruit slices

There is a wrong assumption in the minds of people that dried fruits are a very healthy food option. Fruits when dried and sliced are enhanced with concentrated sugar to retain the sweet taste. This makes them extremely unhealthy for your body. Besides, these dried fruit slices are not even fresh. These slices or chips are glazed with oil or other substances to make them look appealing to the customers. Avoid them!

3. Multi grain foods

First and foremost, multi grain and wholegrain foods are not the same. Multi grain foods are usually made of refined grains, which lose their nutritional values and are left with endosperm. The endosperms are the least nutritious part of the grain. On the other hand, with whole grains, all the nutritional value is kept intact; and these foods are also healthier as compared to multi grain.
