10 Tips to Forgive and Forget

6. Think of happy situations

This tip can be extremely helpful when the person who has done the mistake is a friend. Think of the happy times spent together and the good things that the person did to you; in no time your resentment will vanish in thin air.

7. Don’t think about the past whatsoever

Take a firm decision and don’t ever look back. Think of the future and be happy that your friend understands his or her mistake.

8. Be proud that you are so good

If you think forgiving is tough, then simply think about what all forgiveness can give you in return. You gain respect from the opposite party, admiration and needless to say, immense peace for having forgiven the person. You can then feel proud that you are so good and give a nice pat on your back.

9. Think of the happiness you are giving the other person

What if you had done something wrong and the same friend forgot all woes and accepted you back into his or her life? Won’t you be the happiest in the world? So, just exchange roles in real life and make the other person happy. And don’t worry, you will be just as happy as your friend.

10. Focus on other things

Shut off the negative voices screaming in your mind and focus on other better things in life. People with mature thinking don’t cry over split milk. They have millions of things to do in life rather than run over the past and seethe with spite and grudges.
