There are many ways to give your room the perfect makeover. Interestingly, different people have different taste and preferences. One has to give thought to what makes them feel good about life. Introducing such elements in your room is certainly a great way to change the look and feel of the house. Here are some tips to give your room a makeover.

1. Use wall art

Wall art is a great way to spruce up your room. The good thing about wall art is that there is indulgence for anyone. Irrespective of whether you like conservative art or have a craze for modern or contemporary art, you will find something to adorn the walls of your room. You can even pick something that drives you. A poster of your favorite band or athlete is almost a given. Comic heroes, graphic art and superhero art will really add to the personality of your room. Changing around the wall hangings can add to the novelty of the appearance.

2. Make room for creativity

You can always rely on creativity to make your room stand out. You can get in a bunk bed and paint your walls in a complementing palette. You can use stripes of different colors combined with other designs. If you want to experiment with the space of your room, you can hang lampshades on either side of the bed using pulleys or metal wires. Fabric drop cloth can be used to decorate your room if you have an artsy side. These can be hung around the room or used as curtains. A dart board or a mini basketball net can add to the cool quotient of the room.

3. Have a cozy seating and sleeping space

There are many ways of conserving space and creating a cozy look about the house. Apart from bunk beds, you can also go for couches that double up as sofas and are foldable. Multifunctional furniture is ideal for guys who need extra space in their rooms without giving up comfort. There are bed-chair combinations and sleeping tents which can create a sense of novelty. A huge bean bag or couple of bar stools will be ideal seating elements. Bean bags thrown around your room are also great for friends to lounge around.

4. Take care of the colors

Rugged or raw colors can add energy to a room. Checkered bed sheets and curtains could be used. Darker shades should be used for a bright room and vice-versa to balance out the lighting. Airy, spacious rooms with the right kind of curtains and bed-sheets could look very attractive. If you want to make your room appear larger, it’s a good idea to stick with light colors; dark colors eat into the space of a room.
