An ideal relationship is when you can share everything with your partner. When you can tell them things that you are thinking and discuss them freely without having to worry about the consequences. Bu sadly, we do not live in an ideal world and nor do we have ideal relationships. Relationships can be quite tricky and you never know what you say is going to tick off your girlfriend. Sometimes an innocuous remark is all it takes to break a relationship. Things can get real dicey when you are just beginning in the relationship, so be careful about what you say and do not shoot off your mouth without thinking. Here are some things that you should never say to your girlfriend.

1. “ I still miss my ex, she was so much more understanding”

You would be lucky to still have your current girlfriend and a proper face after you tell her this. No one wants to be compared and girlfriends especially do not want to be compared to the exes. This is the worst thing that you can tell her and frankly you should start asking yourself first why you are in a new relationship when you are still hung up on your old girlfriend.

2. “ I think you are putting on a lot of weight, you should maybe stop wearing those tight clothes”

If your girlfriend is putting on weight on an alarming weight, you can tell her then, but you need a lot of tact even then. You cannot tell her about her weight issues to her face. Instead try and be encouraging and put it across very subtly. Make it more about her health than about the way she looks.

3. “ I never want to get married”

It is not to say that all women want to get married and have children eventually, but a lot do. If you are serious about not getting married, you should find someone who thinks similarly. If you are going out with someone who is thinking marriage and you still stick to your own belief, it can only be a recipe for disaster.
