6 Useful Tips to Resolve Workplace Conflict

Any kind of conflict, disagreements, tussles or conflicts at the workplace are never welcomed. They spoil the atmosphere of professionalism and shift the focus from the real work. Here’s how you can effectively resolve issues at your office.

1. Don’t take sides

In case the tussle is between 2 of your coworkers, it’s best to be neutral and settle both of them down for a mature talk regarding the issue. Don’t start isolating the other while taking one’s side; it will create animosity towards you and result in groupism.

2. Avoid physical fights

If the matter spirals out of control, such that the people involved look like they are about to pounce on each other, wedge between them and stop them from hitting each other. In case it’s you who are throbbing with anger or feel the other person may hit you with something, back off and count till 10 calmly.

3. Discuss the issue calmly

As soon as you find yourself on the edge of anger, repeat the above mentioned exercise. Compose yourself and go into a private cabin or conference room with the said person to discuss the matter maturely and professionally.
