6 Useful Tips to Avoid Procrastination

4. Remove distractions temporarily

Distractions could be a reason why you are becoming prone to procrastination. Do you get up to make coffee just after five minutes of beginning work? Do you feel like strumming your guitar just as you start an important job? You could be getting distracted by the things in and around the place you work. Remove any object that could cause distraction on a temporary basis. This can help you to focus on your job and get it done quickly.

5. Set alarms and reminders

Continuously ringing alarms and reminders can be annoying but that can be exactly what you need to stop procrastinating. If you are the type of person who needs constant pushing to finish tasks, then you should set reminders on your cell phone. You may find this annoying in the beginning but you will slowly get used to the constant ringing, which will remind you to complete specific tasks in a timely manner.

6. Get someone to check on you

If you are not good at exercising self control, you should get someone’s help to make you avoid procrastination. Ask a friend to check on you from time to time or get a family member to help you take stock of the things you have completed in the day. This will help you to avoid procrastination and get things done faster.
