5 Exercises for a Healthy Heart

A healthy heart is necessary for all, and you do not have to be an athlete or sportsperson to keep your heart healthy. There are plenty of simple cardiovascular exercises which will increase your respiratory and heat rate, forcing them to work harder, and eventually make your heart stronger. This will not only prevent you from getting cardiovascular diseases, but also provide you with more strength to do everyday physical work that requires a lot of oxygen, such as climbing up the stairs. You will not get tired easily. Here are 5 exercises which will help you keep your heart healthy.

1. Brisk walking

Walking is the best exercise for any human being. It can help you in several ways. But for a healthy heart, try to increase the intensity of your walk by moving at a fast pace. You do not have to run, but make sure that your walking speed is enough to tire you. You could achieve that on a treadmill or on the streets, but taking a long walk outside early in the morning is extremely beneficial to your heart.

2. Running

When we say running, we don’t exactly want you to run as though a dog is chasing you. This run should be a little faster than a jog. It is more physically challenging than walking and will help you burn any extra calories that your body may contain, eventually preventing the risks of cardiovascular diseases. Including 2 minutes of run for every 5 minutes of brisk walking is a good way to start off this routine.

3. Swimming

Swimming is the perfect health exercise for almost anyone of any age who knows how to swim. If not, it is time that you learn it. Swimming is a multi-beneficial activity for your body which will helps to make your heart stronger, and at the same time strengthen your muscles. While swimming takes a lot of effort from your body, it is the perfect substitution for people with joint pains who have a problem in walking or running.
