Sometimes we may take loans from our close ones in uninvited situations and they willingly help us because they care for us. But there are times when we are late or fail to return or pay back the debts; this makes the situation very awkward for both and it negatively affects a relationship. No matter which relationship we are in, money matters have the power to demolish the purest of relations. In fact, it is advisable that when it comes to financial crisis, debts and situations one must not remain indebted to someone for a long time. Here are 4 main reasons why debt affects a relationship negatively.

1. Makes things awkward

When we are unable to pay back a debt taken from people who are close to us like friends, relatives or a boyfriend, we start feeling uncomfortable and find it difficult to face that person. Every time we look at that person it reminds us of the debt and we become conscious about it. It affects the relationship because we cannot think of anything else and makes interactions awkward.

2. Makes the other person act differently

Living with a debt can affect the relationship with the person you have taken it from because the person may be hoping and waiting for you to pay it back. When you are unable to do so, chances are their behavior towards you might change and they may act indifferently.
